In modern times, Japan has been pursuing a strategy of military expansion ocean, thecontinent as a secondary expansion policy, repeatedly provoke war at sea in the Asia-Pacificregion, but ultimately failed miserably in the Pacific War. During the Cold War, Japan learnedprewar lessons, and ultimately developed a "special defense" principle of maritime securitystrategy, On the basis of the reconstruction of the armed forces at sea; there were moderatedevelopment, backed by the strength of American sea power to defend the maritime security.Since the new century, the role of maritime rights and interests in the maintenance of maritimesecurity and national interests should not be underestimated; many countries in order to maintainthe country’s maritime rights and interests have been stepping up development of maritimestrategy in line with the national reality.
