Ad Hoc Networks is an autonomous network without fixed infrastructures which support multi-hop communication through routing protocols. Ad Hoc Networks and the Internet have many differences. These differences are not only the structure and topology of networks, but also communication patterns of nodes in both networks.Integrating Ad Hoc Networks and the Internet into a hybrid network is a challenging problem due to these differences. Integration of Ad Hoc Networks with Internet can extend the application of Ad Hoc, realize resource sharing, and expand the coverage area of network. In order to Ad Hoc Networks node to possess Internet connectivity, it must be able to find an Internet gateway. This thesis consists of how to find and maintain contact with Internet by gateway. In this thesis, we proposed a three-layer dynamic gateway strategy, which integrates mobile IP and AODV protocol. This is one kind of multi-gateway mechanisms. By using irregular nodes not attached fixed gateway as gateway in Ad Hoc network, network overload will decreased. And the efficiency of the network will increase. According to the distance, the registered number of nodes and traffic-weighted algorithm, dynamic optimization gateway is selected. This approach is based on the use of dynamic gateways as an interface between Ad hoc Networks and the Internet. With model analysis, it is proved that the dynamic gateway architecture is appropriate for Ad Hoc Internet connectivity. Finally, with the aid of several simulation experiments, the performance of dynamic gateway approach has been obviously improved.
