| In today's society, as the important vector of transmitting information, modern media not only imply entertainment and pastime for people, but influence their way of living and thinking.When all people think that everyone has became the "media people", how much have the modern media actually had impact on children who have the nature of naivety and fragility? Whether the level of children in northwest countries having been influenced by modern media is different from the children in city and rural in developed regions or not?For trying to remove those doubts, this research locking the children group from Yangmiao village of Longnan city in Gansu province, by using the fieldwork methods of direct observations, participant observations and deep interview, studies their everyday life from many different angles, and explores deeply the role of modern media playing in their everyday life. It will perhaps imply an objective reference for reviewing the daily life,values and thoughts of the whole children group in Northwest of China in the context of modern media.This paper is consisted by five chapters:the first chapter introduces the background, objective, methods and literature review. The second chapter presents the information communication circumstance of investigation scene. The third chapter describes the contacting situation between six children and mass media in Yangmiao village, and their everyday life. Chapter four shows the childrens'media contacting situation and their everyday life during school. The last chapter draws some conclusions on the relationship between media and children in Yangmiao, and gives a new thinking after the research.Throughout the research we found that the core media been used by children in Yangmiao is television, the main contents are entertainment programs, and they hardly contact knowledge-based programs. There is no doubt that their contacting behaviors have made certain impacts on their thoughts and the development of personalities and so on. But overall modern media are just one of the many factors that influence the socialization of children, and the most important factors are their age, gender, education, family background, in the other word their demographic characteristics and primary groups. |
