| This thesis gives emphasis on the design of LXI-Serial Adapter. By this module, a large number of serial interface instruments now in widely used can be integrated in the LXI based automatic test and control system. The LXI-Serial Adapter designed in this paper exchanges data and commands between LXI BUS and test equipments with serial interface.LXI-Serial Adapter, which provides seamless connectivity between the serial interface instruments and the LXI test system, should be conformed to the LXI Standard and the serial communication protocol. On the basis of thoroughly analyzing about specifications of LXI Standard, network and serial communication specifications, this scheme of this module is brought forward according to the domestic application needs.In the design, the embedded system based on ARM CPU and Linux OS is the core which makes the network communication more esay and meets the strong requirement of LXI BUS to network interface. Instead of using conventional exclusive serial communication chip in the serial communication part, FPGA which described by Verilog hardware description language makes the whole design more compact and stable, also makes the alteration of the circuit'function merely need to alter the hardware connection of the circuit. Photoelectricity coupler and high-performance isolation electric supply are employed to restrain common mode interference. This makes the module more safety and completely isolated with outside environment.In terms of software, hardware drivers of EBI and interrupt are developed, also with a server to parse and execute SCPI command. The thesis developed COM based interchangeable virtual instrument driver (IVI-COM) of this module and a soft panel based on it, at the same time, a Java Applet based soft panel is realized, which has high availability.The LXI interface, IVI-COM, WEB and serial communication interface are being tested in the end of this thesis, also with the results of those tests that perform very well. The actual experimental results show that the theoretical analysis of this module is correct, the design is reasonable and all of the technical qualifications are meeting the requirements of the design. |
