The Initial Stages Of EVNS Development

As the development of digital technology and the popularization of electronic equipments, embedded system is used in more and more fields. The number of applied embedded systems is much larger than common PC's, and the development will continue for a long time at a high speed.The Embedded Vehicle Navigation System (EVNS) is a relatively new embedded product. It mainly used for navigation services in cars, but as well as GPS orientation, map browse, media player, security alarm, internet navigation and so on. Many EVNS products are equipped as the popularization of cars. Since the EVNS product is still in developing (not developed) stage inland, there would be a good market for this technology.EVNS is an integrated product which includes lots of sub technology, such as hardware selection, hardware drivers' transplantation and development, the selection and transplantation of bootloader and operation system, graphic user interface, map database and data process and many other application programs.This paper mainly researched the initial stages of EVNS construction, include hardware drivers' transplantation and development, bootloader of u-boot's transplantation and modification, construction of uClinux operation system core and root file system, transplantation of MircroWindows and some relative graphic applications. These contents are arranged in each chapter as the sequence of project development. The paper recorded the whole development things such as steps, problems, methods as well as references wihtin work. There is a sum-up at the end of this paper, which mentioned the finished part of work and the shortage of it.
