Design And Implementation Of Database Based On SNMP Protocol In The Communication Network Management System

SNMP(Simple Network Management Protocol) is the most universal network management protocol today, and we can use it to monitor running status, set parameters, collect data and view efficiency of network. It has been the really network management standard. SQL Server 2005 is a large database management system(DBMS) that is released by the Microsoft company lately, and it supports the distributed client/server network mode. Establishing leading position in the world because of its flexibility, extensibility, reliability and data warehouse etc, it is the first choice of the DBMS currently. The communication network management system of new measurement ship adopts SNMP as communication protocol and SQL Server 2005 as DBMS ,which has simple and practical value.Firstly, the paper elaborates the basic theories of the SNMP and implementation mechanism. MIB possesses tree-like hierarchy, so first it makes for expansion MIB object, and next it is not complex to implement accessing to MIB object. Secondly, describing the design of MIB. Choosing SNMP++ and Agent++ as a tool to develop the MIB browser, and using the visible interface to create it. It also implements the edit function and automatic data conversion between MIB database and NMS' center database by programming, which resolves the problem of interface between different databases.Finally, I put forward a solution to implement the reliability and security by analyzing this database management system(DBMS) SQL Server 2005 deep and making use of its characteristics well.The paper is about design and implementation of database under SNMP protocol in the network management system, and it states data saving and part progressing work mainly. Though the database is to guarantee implementation of various functions at the backstage, the design of database for network management has great significance and practical value.
