Design And Realization Of MIB And Event Mechanism Used In The NMS Based On SNMP Protocol

SNMP(Simple Network Management Protocol,SNMP) is the most universal protocol for TCP/IP Network Management today,and has been the really industrial standard.With the development of network technology,more and more network equipments,e.g. routers,switches,communication equipments etc,have been developed to support SNMP.Using SNMP, we can monitor running status,set parameters,collect data and view efficiency of network.This paper first describes the development position and the user's requirement of the network management,the SNMP network management frame,and the base knowledge of SNMP protocol,then we discuss the SNMP network management system in following three key technologies:the Editor/Compiler of MIB,the event mechanism,the communication between the server and the console soft.Finally we conclude the whole paper,and look forword for the futrue's development.In this solution,the integrate network management system based on SNMP++ and AGENT++ package and SQL Server 2005 is applied to the communication equipments'network management.The NMS collects and analasyses data from agents.The function models of this system have some commonplace,good scalability,and convenient configuration interface.So,our solution is universal for managing network devices in some certain extent.
