| In integrated circuit (IC) chips design, the verification is one of the most complex and time-consuming step in the chips design flow. At present, the investment of the entire design process is occupied by the functional verification of IC about 60%~70%, functional verification has become the key to succeed in the project. How to use the new tool and technology to verify the complex function in the design has already been the challenge to reduce the overall product time-to-market. Therefore, it needs a powerful verification platform urgently in the design for complex chips which can provide the chips verification method and enhance the automation of verification, thus to enhance the verification efficiency and speed up the development cycle of the chips.The paper which aims at the specific domain of SDH equipment chips, has researched on the verification methodology and verification technology of the industry of application specific integrated circuit(ASIC). It takes the chip verification flow as the foundation, proposes to build a functional verification platform which can implement the chips functional verification automation, thus speeds up the chips development process. First, the paper introduced the SDH principle, then analyzed the characteristic of verification technology in IC design and the chip verification flow, followed with the expatiation of the basic structure and the design method of the platform, designed a verification platform of SDH chips. The verification platform designed in the paper has certain versatility, it can satisfy SDH chips verification of different function request in its domain through different configuration.The test result indicated, after using this platform, the efficiency of the SDH chips functional verification has obtained further enhancement, sped up the chips development cycle effectively and obtained the good effect. At the same time, the establishment of this verification platform has the good reference value to verification of other correlation domain.After summarizing the methods and experience, the paper designed this verification platform, the SDH simulation level, the test level software design is still insufficiently, the code conversion among the design is also immature. In the following work, the paper will consummate the function of the verification, and using the new technology to expand its function, make it to be a more general platform in different kind of SDH chips verification. |
