In the real time image processing, the elimination of image rotation is a practical image processing technology, whether in the military or civilian facilities have been widely applied. Currently, there are many methods for canceling image rotation, including mechanical, optical, electronics. The method for canceling image rotation with electronics is the fastest-growing, as well as the future development trend of the elimination of image rotation.According to the requirements of the Navy unit, we design a system to eliminate image rotation of the image observation system for the Navy ships. This paper studies the characteristics of the video signal in detail. A video processing platform is designed, which main structure is FPGA and DSPs. The core processor of the real time image processing system is EP20K600EBC652-2X. Through rotating the original image for a corresponding angle in opposite direction and re-sampling the image by double linear interpolation method, an image after rotation-compensation can be obtained. Because the angle of rotation is measured by the mechanical equipment, it is a system including both mechanical equipment and electronic equipment.This paper discusses the image rotation algorithm and optimizes the algorithm. It describes design details of the entire system and realization of its software and hardware, including PCB design, FPGA and DSPs related hardware and software development. Currently, the system has worked, and has achieved the goal of canceling image rotation real time.
