Design And Implementation Of Presence Server In The Instant Communication System Based On SIMPLE Protocal

With the presence service and instant message's rapid development, they are not only pure services for business, but also basic capabilities for all the services in the next generation network. The presence service provides user's status information for each other such as the accessibility, availability, communication ability, willingness of communication and so on. There are a lot of different standards and specifications for the implementation of presence. SIMPLE is a very good protocol for the implementation of presence, because it is a SIP extension for the instant messaging. Accompanied by SIP becoming the core NGN control protocol, SIMPLE has also become a hot research topic.This paper is based on the project "The instant communication system based on SIMPLE protocol" and focuses on the design and implementation of the presence server in the SIMPLE instant communication system. Firstly, the paper introduces the SIMPLE protocol including the development, some key techniques and the framework of presence. Secondly, it does the needs analysis for the presence server and provides the server's functional requirements and work process. Thirdly, it describes the design and implementation of the presence server including the system's overall structure, the class diagram, the definition of core data structure and the collaboration between each module. Lastly, it gives the presence server's test result, including test cases, test environment, test method and test report.
