Because of the fine communication capacity and robustness, Hybrid PMP/Mesh network is suitable to be deployed in hostile environment. An efficient Media Access Control (MAC) is quite essential to the successful operation of the networks since it solve the difficulty that a large number of stations to share a common wireless medium. On the precondition of equitable access, how to guarantee quality of service and improve energy efficiency is one of the research hotspots. In this thesis, Wireless Token Ring Protocol (WTRP) is discussed firstly, and then some problems of WTRP are pointed out. In order to solve problems of WTRP, the improved Dynamic Clusterhead Token Transfer (DCTT) protocol is researched. In this thesis, the principle of DCTT is expatiated, and a comparison between DCTT and WTRP is made through MATLAB simulation software. Results show that DCTT has a better adaptation to the change of network topology than WTRP, and the average queuing delay in DCTT is shorter than that in WTRP. When network's load is light, the energy-efficiency of DCTT is higher than that of WTRP. But with the load increasing, this superiority disappears gradually.
