Design Of Conical Conformal Microstrip Array Antenna And Compact Inverted-L Antenna

The research works with scientific projects are divided into two parts in this thesis. A method for designing a four part compact conical conformal microstrip array antenna is proposed, and discuss the difference of two kinds of arrange form, and the engineering sample of a compact of inverted-L antenna is made in the second part.Firstly, in order to introduce the engineering requirements of conformal antenna as a research background, the definition of conformal antenna are presented, the history and research status of the conformal antenna array technology are given, furthermore, the design methods of conical conformal antenna array are also under discussion. Using the Ansoft HFSS software to simulate and optimized the arrange form, on this condition, two kinds of the prototypes have been fabricated and measured. A favorable VSWR and good radiation characteristics are demonstrated in the measured results of conical conformal antenna. Conical conformal antenna arrays reveal their outstanding impedance, which conducive to the realization of the antenna miniaturization. The direction bias of radiation pattern is solved as a engineering question by the designs mentioned, therefore these antenna arrays are effective design methods.Secondly, according to the requirements of projects and the theory of monopole antenna, a compact inverted-L antenna element is designed and simulated by HFSS. The influences of the missile body to the direction of radiation pattern of the antenna are analyzed and an engineering prototype of compact inverted-L antenna is designed and fabricated. The measured results of the antenna prototypes are consistent with the simulated results, which indicate these antenna design methods are effective and universal.
