Research Of The Embedded Smart-Home System Based On The Loongson

The "Smart-Home" is defined as a system which combines all sorts of the sub system which relate to the family life according to a family manage platform. It uses the computer, the network and the synthetical wiring system. When the Smart-Home appears, great changes have taken place around the people's life and work style. A lot of industries have been affected such as the houses property, the smart family service trade and all kinds of household appliances and electric appliances. And a lot of subjects have been promoted such as electronics, ecology, human body courses and so on. The Loongson CPU series is a kind of current cpu which produced by the Chinese Academy of Sciences. This kind of cpu uses the RISC directives which is similar to the MIPS. Many industry chains are needed to support the independent technology like Loongson, and in this background the topic engender.The system in this article is composed by two parts, and includes three modules. These modules are the web service server, the handle device PPC client and the ARM2410s embedded system platform. The server works as the kernel part on a Loongson host, and control all the Smart-Home system. The PPC client works as a client GUI for the users to connect the main system by a long distance. And the ARM2410s provides some household appliances and electric appliances. This system includes the web services communication and the web socket communication. The web services communication connects the web service server and the PPC, and ensures that the client can use all the services which the server provide. And the web socket communication connects the web service server and the embedded system, for the Smart-Home system can use the household appliances.This system uses many technologies and tools such as the Web Services, the socket program, the embedded device, PPC, binary file operatons, the pthreads, the cross compile, MD5, Framebyffer, V4L, JPEG compress and so on.
