In the material world, any object has time and space information.With the development of life level and expending of life sapce,people more and more hope that geographical information system provid accurate geographical information and convenience of travel plans in their production and life.The geographical information system,which combine Geographical science, Computer technology with Internet technology,is not only a tool using by experts, and shoudle be socialized and popular untill it becomes a necessity for everyone. this paper is a summary about Analysis and exploration of GIS's socialization and popular, and Research and Practice to new technology.The paper analyzed the various traditional modes of WebGIS, summed up the advantages and disadvantages of these solutions, while combining the characteristics of online map services, the paper described the reason that this service can solve the problems of traditional WebGIS modes. The achievement of the key technology of electronic map services, such as asynchronous communication, transmission formats, data transfer, this paper carried out research and application. These key technologies for the realization of lightweight electronic maps provided strong technical support.About the demand characteristic of traffic information service, based on in-depth understanding of the technical features of Google maps API , the paper realized the map control, incident response and handling, local search and other common functions, focusing on the geographical decoding, line services and streetview services. In order to fully highlight the advantages of online map services, this paper presents an optimized system architecture, playing the advantages of server processing capabilities strength, at the same time, improving data transmission format, optimizing data transmission, reducing network bandwidth requirements. Practice has proved that the structure has a more efficient data transfer speed, leading to excellent user experience.Finally, the paper bring about a traffic information service platform which services for the Asian Games. The map data of the platform is from Google Maps'server, attribute data is from SQL Server. Based on geographic information services for users, platforms depend on the stadiums'geographic information, appling the structure proposed in this paper, establishing a powerful search engine, providing multi-directional information search services. The results show that on-line map services can meet the needs of users, while improving development speed of the geographic information service system, shorten the development cycle, saving development costs, optimize the human-computer interaction.
