Research Of The Wood-product's Futures Development In China

The conflict of wood-product supplies and demands is the plight of the forestry industries of our country, and the timbers'supply has been the bottleneck of development of wood-product industry. Thus it is critical and necessary to aggrandize the investments of capital and technique to improve the quality and quantity of manual forests, and to implement sustainable development. But the investments of social capital are limited because of the distortion of price system in forestry industry, and absence of risk management tools, and the heaviness of taxations and fees in circulations, and the development of forestry industry is hampered. The futures of wood-products could settle these problems in some extent through the functions of finding the price, hedging, transferring the information. The unfavorable factors were proposed in this paper through the analysis of necessity and feasibility, and the selection of the path of wood-product's futures for the present and relative suggestions on policy were also proposed in the paper. This paper summarized the development of the wood-products'futures all over the world, and believed it is necessary to push on the futures of wood-product in our country based on the description of concept of wood-product's futures. But the futures can only get trial on some kinds of products and cannot be pushed on in a large scale because of the bases of the wood-products spot market, of the market degree of forestry industry, of the acquaintance of futures. At last of the paper, reinstating the trial of plywood futures and step by step selection the paths of other wood-products'futures, such as timbers, news papers, etc. and other policy suggestions also be proposed such as the reinforce the researches on theory of futures, reformation of forestry industry market,etc.
