If enterprises want to have their own advantages in keen competition, they must be absorbed in structuring and exerting to their own core ability, and outsource some non-core business to the specialized company of third party logistics, so that they can obtain " winning together ", and establish an unassailable position.The logistics industry in Yangtse River Delta economy zone has already obtained very great development, and the huge logistics demand has offered the effective foundation for developing third party logistics, so finding its suitable logistics development model must be able to promote the fast growth of this regional economy.This dissertation explained the concept, service content, characteristic, function of third party logistics; summarized and analyzed the third party logistics current situation of American, Europe, Japanese, and China, in addition, expecting the developing trends of the third party logistics in globe; made investigations the general situation of economy and logistics in Yangtse River Delta economy zone, and also made investigations the third party logistics existing development mode in Yangtse River Delta economy zone; expounded reasons that the two third party logistics development modes (third party logistics development model taking improving the service added value of the logistics link as goal, third party logistics development model taking individualized logistics services as goal) are suitable to Yangtse River Delta economy zone; put forward individual character third party logistics mode that suitable to Yangtse River Delta economy zone: supply chain logistics service mode, distributing and delivering logistics service mode; Under the global background, carried on comparative research on third party logistics development of China and developed country, and under the backgrounds of the whole world and China, carried on comparative research on third party logisticsdevelopment of Yangtse River Delta economy zone and Zhujiang River Delta economy zone, and the comparative analysis were carried on from the respects, such as the government's function, market environment, logistics idea and demand of customer's enterprise, etc; on the basis of comparative analysis, finally, proposed some suggestions and countermeasures from the angle of government, employer's organization, third party logistics enterprises, customer's enterprise, for the development of third party' logistics in Yangtse River Delta economy zone.
