Study On The Outsourcing And EMS Of Moving Telecom MFG (Handset)

Moving Telecom Manufacturing Industry (Handset Manufacturing) is the most quickly development fields after 1980s'. In such a high-tech field, new techniques and manufacturing methods, especially the quickly development of outsourcing and EMS ( Electronic Manufacturing Services ), make enterprise focus on their specialized field more and more, so that whole supply chain become reasonable than before for divide-the-work and cooperation . Study on the outsourcing and EMS, especially how to success in win-win within modern supply chain, become an important topic and front-edge area of supply chain. In present dissertation, firstly, we study on supply chain from two sides: one side is outsourcing, from the reason of development, the status and trend, the factor analysis of operation and management, we summarize why and how to development. On the other side, study on EMS, especially the handset filed, deeply analyze the characteristic and method of operation. Then using UTStarcom company as an example, we analyze the relationship of outsourcing and EMS, and how to success in win-win . At the same time, we introduce supply chain management and transformation project of UTStarcom. Main achievement : (1) Systematical study on outsourcing development of Handset field; (2) Systematical study on EMS model ; (3) Study on supply chain management and transformation project model of modern enterprise. The other part of this dissertation is systematical investigation on the forecasting methodology and variance, which combined the practices and based on tradition method. Main achievement is: (1) Handset forecasting approach to season factor method; (2) Variance study, introduce variance modulus and variance volume based on the season factor method, it can make better to combine the traditional static-state and practice dynamic-state method.
