Cultural intercommunication and interaction in tourism is one of the most important elements in tourism culture. Cultural attraction is one of the most important attractions to tourists. In the course of tours, contacts between tourists and local residents and tourism service people are sure to result in cultural intercommunication and interaction. Their movement certainly makes influence on both tourists and local residents, tourism service people. At present, tourism scholars only focus on the impacts on the destinations, but nearly nobody studies the cultural intercommunication and interaction.This thesis mainly discusses the problem of cultural intercommunication and interaction between tourist-guest sources and tourist destinations, which is the tourism cultural research weakness in these years. It aims to find the law of the cultural intercommunication and interaction because it is interrelated to the tourism sustainability of tourism development. The thesis is made up of five parts.In the fist part, the significance, framework, innovation, research methods used in this thesis are discussed.In the second part, summarize the present research results of this issue, which is divided into four sub-parts: the first one deal with the effect on cultural intercommunication in tourism. The second one is about the cultural interaction between tourists and destinations which include local people and tourism service people. The third is about the cultural effect on tourism, especially in the minorities' areas. The last one is about the appraisal of the above research.In the third part, the basic concepts and the theory of cultural communication andinteraction are introduced, including culture, culture area, the essence of tourism, cultural communication in tourism, destination and culture change, etc.In the fourth part, the modes of the cultural interaction between tourist-guest sources and destinations are discussed, include masters, process, tradition modes, and my own mode - symbolic interaction and spring mode. The symbolic interaction is put forward to interpret the activity between the tourists and local people and tourism service people. The spring mode is used to interpret cultural interaction between tourist-guest sources and tourist destinations. This part is the most important in this thesis.In the last part, the principles and basic models- of cultural interaction and its effect are presented. In my opinion, the cultural intercommunication and interaction is sure to not only incur cultural vicissitudes in destinations, but also transform and reconstruct tourists' cultural identity.
