Research On The Application Of LeanSigma In Pharmaceutical Industry

Currently domestic pharmaceutical industry is developing rapidly, however, the competition between enterprises is fiercely as the pharmaceutical enterprises have similar strategy and resource. How to survive the challenges and take the opportunity to develop themselves, it should be considered by the management teams of the enterprises. Most of domestic experts and scholars are mainly interested in the improvement of innovation capability and resource integration. In this paper, the main point is setting to the internal management ( such as process optimization, improvement of quality level) to reduce the operational expenses and upgrade enterprises' competitive capability.Firstly the paper briefs the status quo and challenges which domestic pharmaceutical enterprises are facing. It is obvious from the brief that the profit margin of the pharmaceutical industry is dropping significantly and LeanSigma is introduced to deal with the issue. In the second part, the writer explains the lean production, 6 sigma and LeanSigma principle etc. and discusses the relationship between LeanSigma and enterprises' culture, relation between LeanSigma and product quality etc. In the third part, the writer draw a conclusion that implementation of LeanSigma in domestic pharmaceutical industry is indisputable based on the status quo and the current challenges. The value stream of the core of LeanSigma is introduced and value stream mapping for further improvement is detailed in the part. To minimize waste and deviation, the layout of LeanSigma enterprises should follow the lean principle and their manufacture activities should be based on their customer demanding rather than their inventory. To well control the investment of fixed assets, the writer proposes to create product family and mix-up line for middle and low size demanding products. Innovation always goes with difficulty, in the last part, the writer summarizes the issues which were experienced during the implementation of LeanSigma and comments on the application in domestic pharmaceutical industry.
