Since the end of the Cold War, the fast development of political multi- polarity and economic globalization leads to the economic factors' ever-rising position and chief viables in international relations. To be specific, as to national interests, much prominence has been given to economic interests; as to national security, much attention has been paid to economic security; and when it comes to terms of external functions of the government, its external economic and trade functions has been increasing strengthened. Thus, the post-Cold War economic competition featured the currently international trends has taken the place of arms races during the Cold War. On the other hand, nations have redefined their national security in succession, which leads to a turning point in the realization of national security, transforming military security-oriented to economic security-oriented national security views.During the process, the development and strengthening of the multinational corporations (MNCs) has become an unable-to-omitted phenomenon in international relations. As the strongest promoter and most active actor of economic globalization, MNCs with its advantages in technology, capital and management has been the nation's useful media to open markets abroad and increase their competition. Its influence covers dimension of world economic and political and cultural dimension as well. Due to MNCs' essence that they pursue the maximum of profits, their strategic aim is bound to collide with the host country's long-term development strategy, which will affect the host country's economic security.As long as China is concerned, more than 400 out of MNCs "World Top 500' have already entered the country. They continue to strengthen their cooperation with China on one hand, and conducted a fierce competition on the other hand. They will increasingly enter the fields of Chinese society, bringing China technology, funds and sophisticated management at one time and diverse impact on China's economy. Some vital national economic departments have or will be affected greatly. Thus, China's economic security has been sharpened. Under the circumstances of China's enteringinto WTO and deeper immersion into the economic globalization, how to deal with the relations between MNCs and China's economic security has a greatly realistic significance.This article, beginning with the analysis on the issue of economic security after the Cold War, puts forward the related counter-measures on the basis of analysis on MNCs' acting features and research on connotation and features of China's economic security. The article gives a definition of China's economic security, putting its emphasis on MNCs' impact on China's security of manufactures, finance and strategic resources (especially refers to oil security).The article is divided into five chapters. Chapter one analyses the features of MNCs' behaviours and gives a definition of the connotation of China's economic security, pointing out MNCs' impact on economic security mainly focuses on the fields of manufactures, finance and strategic resources (mainly refers to oil security). These three aspects consist of the core and chief contents of China's economic security. Thus one can have a better understanding of MNCs' impact on China's economic security by analysing these three aspects.Chapter Two, Three and Four analyse MNCs' impact on China's economic security by analysing these three aspects respectively.Chapter Five brings forward related thoughts on maintaining China's economic security from dimensions of home, abroad and MNCs which is based on the formerly-mentioned analysis.
