The global market ,quickly response to customer and low-cost production competition, are the main condition which our enterprises must face today, they are also the most important factors that promote logistics management development constantly. The modern logistics activities have exceeded the traditional warehousing, transportation, and broaden into the whole supply chain. The efficient logistics management can not only help the companies enlarge market, improve the level of customers'service, but also reduce the systemic cost, which it is also called "The Third Profit Source". Besides this, the logistics management based on supply chain, will make these functions more efficient. So, How to dig and build the logistics capability? This is the aim of the article. This article firstly studies the constitution of logistics capability of supply chain. According to the key elements which affect the logistics capability of supply chain based on the current research, the capability is constituted of the elements capacity and the operation capability. The operation capability is composed of the logistics cost-control capability and logistics service capability. Then they are analyzed in details. The logistics capability based on supply chain, is an abstract concept, which is difficult to be defined quantitatively. According to this, the article just tries to find some direct and quantitative models from several aspects. So, according to the characteristics of the logistics capability in supply chain, the article gives the quantitative analyses from the two aspects: the node capability and the whole capability. To the node capability, three typical logistics nodes are selected according to the former given logistics structure based on supply chain. For each node we give the capability index, and quantitative model. To the whole capability, the article gives three capability indexes to measure it: the circulating capability, the quick-response capability and the value-added capability. For each index, the quantitative models are established.
