| New Basel Capital Accord was finalized in 2004 and will be implemented by each member at the end of 2006. According to New Basel Capital Accord, CBRC (China Banking Regulatory Commission) issued 《Commercial Bank Capital Adequacy Ratio Management Measures》 in order to carry out《Banking Supervision Management Law》 in 2004. It prescribes that the capital-adequacy-ratio of all joint-stock commercial banks must be above 8% from the beginning of 2007. Henceforth, more and more practitioners and scholars discuss the topic of bank-capital-constraint. Facing this new circs, joint-stock commercial banks must switch management pattern and practise differentiation competitive strategy. joint-stock commerc ial banks' differentiation competitive strategies are discussed by the numbers. Firstly, after analyzing the differentiation competition of the Citibank and CMB (China Merchants Bank) , some disciplines are concluded. Every bank can survive and develop only after implementing differentia tion competition on the finance market with diversification demand. Different bank should put forward its own differentiation strategy according to its advantage. In succession, capital constraint' s influence on differentiation competitive strategy of joint-stock commercial banks is discussed entirely by econometric method and theory analysis The conclusion is that, under capital constraint, joint-stock commercial banks should choose differentiation competitive strategy in order to realize development continuously. Specific measures are put forward after analyzing the precondition of implementing differentiation competitive strategy and the advantage of joint-stock commercial banks.Lastly, the conclusion and academic prospect are educed. |
