Research On "Village Within City" In Urbanization Process In China

Village within city is the particular phenomenon in urbanization process in China. This paper, based on the previous research, from the angle of economics, analyzes the phenomenon of village within city. Through analyzing, it is viewed that village within city is the areas where it was rural area but when the city expands, the land was taken over for city use and there is no the farming fields left. Village within city is the particular phenomenon of "deagriculturalization without urbanization" in Urbanization Process in China.On the base of review, the paper explains briefly the Village within city, analyzes the present condition, characteristic, problems and causes. It dissects the forming mechanism of village within city, regards that traditional urban-rural dual mechanism and policy cause the urban-rural dual development structure of internal city as the intrinsic origin of the formation of village within city. As a special community, there exist problems on planning, architecture, management and security. The generally speaking, on the present developing time, village within city promotes urbanization and stabilizes society by providing inhabitancy and living environment for those moving population with low incoming. According to the experience and lesson about existing renovating and construction ways of "village within city", the author put forward the appropriate measures and suggestions.
