As more enterprises have gone deeply into the practice of Business Process Management, the research on the indicator system which is suitable for process enterprises has become a must. Three important characteristics are required from the system: (1) process-based, (2) strategy-driven and (3) improvement-oriented.Upon the above mentioned requirement, the research on structure of indicators system and the building methods was carried out and a strategy-driven performance indicators system for process enterprises, as the important outcome of the research, is presented in this paper. Firstly, the structure of the system, which consists of three vertical levels, is introduced. Based on this structure, specific method to choose effective indicators and build up the relationship between indicators from different levels is discussed. The paper argues that process enterprises could easily develop a suitable performance indicator system with the help of the structure and method introduced in this paper.Last but not least, several different directions are suggested for the further research on the performance indicator system of process enterprise. |
