| This thesis comes from the author's experience in the filed of supplier developmentand management for many years, combining the theories from MBA courses. Theauthor conducts in-depth research on the supply chain between OEM (OriginalEquipment Manufacturer) and EMS (Extended Manufacturer Site), and this thesisprovides the theories focusing on actual operation. The theory is demonstrated as it doesmake sense for guiding actual operation based on author's application in real work,especially for those big manufacturers with complicated manufacturing processes andactivities, this thesis is significative for re-evaluating and re-engineering internalmanufacturing processes and activities.This thesis starts from the analysis of SC (Supply Chain) and SCM (Supply ChainManagement) strategy comparing with traditional management style with the purpose ofproviding a whole picture of Supply Chain Management and fundamental theories offollowed research on Supply Chain between OEM and EMS. Regarding to Outsourcingstrategy, the author summarizes three key points: 1st is core capability analysis forOutsourcing strategy;2nd is checkpoints of evaluating suppliers, methodology, and theimportance, 3rd is efficient system control for SCM to whole product life cycle. In thelast chapter, this paper shows Motorola SCM case study as close to demonstrate thesupport to above standpoints. |
