Supplier Management Research Based On The Supply Chain Management Of Hi Corporation

Encouraged and supported by government’s relevant policies, the number of foreign trade enterprises increased rapidly. Meanwhile many production-oriented enterprises have also increased their efforts to expand overseas market on their own, leading to increasing competitive pressures to foreign trade enterprises and weakening their position in supply chain. Foreign trade enterprises need to re-examine their own position and role in supply chain. To be the operators and directors of supply chain, foreign trade enterprises should conduct supplier management as the core of their business activities. Foreign trade enterprises can only get rid of the current predicament by improving the market reaction agility and customer satisfaction, reducing procurement costs and risks, and raising their competitive advantage.This paper established the supplier management system for HI Corporation including supplier selection and evaluation, supplier classification, supplier performance appraisal and supplier risk management by comparing the foreign trade enterprises and the production-oriented enterprises and analyzing the status quo of HI Corporation’s supplier management. Among those, the indexes of supplier selection and performance appraisal reflect the characteristics of the times, the industry and the enterprise itself. Using AHP to determine the weight of indexes of the supplier selection and performance appraisal makes the results more scientific and reasonable. Supplier classification can help to clarify the focus of management, save the resources and develop strategy for supplier relationship management. Supplier performance appraisal will be the basis of supplier grading, motivation and supplier relationship optimization. Supplier risk management is conducive to HI Corporation to identify, prevent and deal with the risk from suppliers. This paper has great value in supplier management for HI Corporation.
