Research On The Raw Material Supplier Management Of CE Company

With the rapid development of economic and the increasing market demand, in recent years the whole chemical industry has made a spurt of progress of change, the rapid rise of China’s domestic chemical companies expand production day by day, and the foreign chemical companies have set up large or medium-sized production plant in China, which makes the chemical industry more and more competition. In the increasingly competitive business environment, enterprises are clearly aware of the competition between companies is the competition between supply chains besides the company itself competition. In supply chain, as an important part of enterprises management, supplier management plays an important role to improve the enterprises’ competitiveness. Good supplier management can help companies to reduce material costs and improve product quality, therefore, supplier management plays very important role to the enterprises.CE Company is a large-scale multinational chemical company, mainly engaged in commodities and engineering plastics production and sales. Both the product quality and technique innovation are the leader in chemical industry. However, due to the dogmatic management at the beginning of the plant, there are some shortcomings of CE supplier management, which restricts the development of CE Company. Therefore, this paper will focus on the analysis of CE’s supplier management problems, and then provide proper improvement plans.In this paper, under the ideology of supply chain management and through literature reading, we get the definition of supply chain management and supplier management through literature reading firstly, then the dissertation analysis CE supplier management status according to supply chain management and supplier management principle. According to the analysis, we get CE’s existing supplier management issues: unreasonable raw material and supplier’s classification, simple new supplier approval process etc. Then we take measures to improve the suppliers’ management based on these problems, including: re-classification of raw materials and suppliers under kraljic model, build up different partnership with different suppliers, mew vendor approval process improvement etc. Finally we hope that we could improve CE’s supplier management, meanwhile, hope it could be useful to related large chemical enterprise in supplier management.
