The Application Of Econometrics In China

The mathematization and quantification is an important sign thateconomics becomes a more and more scientific subject. Econometric andMathematical Economics is rapidly developed as an embranchment ofeconomics in China for more than twenty years. As a second class subject ofeconomics, Econometric and Mathematical Economics involves three thirdclass subjects which are econometrics, mathematical economics and otherEconometric and Mathematical Economics subjects. This paper analyzes andsummarizes the evolution, current status and implications of econometrics inChina based on the key embranchment. This paper has made statistical analysis of papers about econometrictheory and application in Journal of Economic Research and The AmericanEconomic Review for more than twenty years. We describe the proportions ofeconometric papers in all papers, distributions and the trend of researchobjects in econometric papers, distributions and the trend of applied models ineconometric papers;then we conducted comparison with the above results;Atlast we have some important implications and conclusions on teaching andresearching in econometrics. On the one hand, these conclusions reflect thedevelopment of applied econometrics in China. On the other hand, they alsodescribe its evolution and current status from a special perspective.
