As a new economy development view,Sustainable development is replacing traditional view of economy increases.During the foreign direct investment process, host country and the invest country, multinational company,belong to different economic corpus respectively. So, during the process of competition, what kind of economic benefits they can aquire on earth?Theories field usually profusion different opinions.Therefore, Inquiring into this problem demand a certain principle which all countries( region) can approve,sustainable development is a principle like this.Therefore,set out from the angle of Sustainable development in the regional economy, studying the foreign direct investment effect on host country and its region, have much actuality and theories meaning.On the other hand,studying nation or regions how to achieve sustainable development in an open economy is also a problem to sustainable development which need to solute urgently.Using theories and methods concerns on regional economics, international investment, and sustainable development economics, the thesis systemically expounds the theoretic relations between foreign direct investment and sustainable development of regional economy, and with reference to the research results home and abroad, the thesis offers an assessment system of the ability of regional economy sustainable development and the influence of foreign direct investment based on multidimensional system plus the current situation of HeBei. On the base of the system, adopting theoretical and empirical methods, together with quantity analysis and quality description methods and AHP, the thesis appraise quantitatively the ability of economic sustainable development and the influence of foreign direct investment in HeBei. Based on the foregoing works, we bring forward some suggestions about regional sustainable development of HeBei.The thesis theoretically enriches the fields and contents of sustainable development economics research on international investment, and it shows practical significance for HeBei or others to utilize foreign direct investment.
