Hefei tourism industry has a good opportunity to develop during the period from 2006 to 2010. Hefei government has put forward to implement "1337" plan of tourism industry to support the remarkable development of this industry.Effective tourism marketing can enhance the core competition of this industry and impel tourism economy develop rapidly.As an important part of Tourism Development Plan of Hefei during the Period from Year 2006 to 2010, firstly,this article introduces the fundamental theories of tourism marketing, including the basic definition, function and content of tourism marketing, and discusses that the theories about the image of tourism destination and how to carry out effective tourism promotion.Then this article analyzes the outstanding problems that exist in tourism marketing of Hefei. After that, this article also makes research on the characteristic and trend of Hefei tourism industry . Finally, this article points out that Hefei should adjust strategic direction of tourism marketing, and puts forward that the specific strategic plan of tourism marketing, including the choice and positioning of tourism market, the strategy of tourism product and tourism promotion. This article especially emphasizes the importance of tourism promotion. Its strategic measures may be summarized as follows:putting forward tourism differentiation strategy;setting up unique image of tourism destination;establishing long-term effective mechanism of tourism promotion.Hope this article could give reference on tourism marketing in order to further support and promote tourism of Hefei during the period from year 2006 to 2010.
