Study On Knowledge Management Technology In The Process Of Product Development

As one of the vital activities in enterprises, product development is the engineof improvement in enterprises, and the knowledge management methods will have agreat impact on the product development cycle and cost. Based on the discussionand study of the key techniques of knowledge, such as knowledge partition,knowledge expression and knowledge discovery, the knowledge managementtechniques in the process of product development are studied in detail. Firstly, theapproaches of the knowledge obtainment in the process of product development areclassified and summarized. Secondly, the methods of knowledge evaluation and a4-dimension knowledge partition method in the process of product development areproposed. Thirdly, the relevant methods of knowledge expression are proposed toexpress different knowledge, two mixed knowledge expression methods arestressed to express unstructured knowledge. Fourthly, based on the character ofknowledge in product development, the relevant data mining ways is chose to findthe new knowledge which is kept in the knowledge base. A knowledge discoveryway based on decision trees are proposed to mine the decision knowledge ofproduct development in product concept design from the existing product's marketreflection knowledge. Fifthly, the knowledge brokering method in productdevelopment process is described in detail. At last, a design frame of productdevelopment information system based on knowledge management is proposed.
