This article gives the standpoint of superseding the previous kanban supplywith the new JIT supply to satisfy real JIT production (make-to-order, MTO)and to achieve the final goal of inventoryless production pursued by JIT bymeans of analysis and discussion on the principle and concepts of the JIT theory.It exemplifies that JIT supply is an advanced method of logistics being able torealize the lowest cost of production and logistics. Pursuant to this standpoint, itsuggests the new idea for logistics to develop JIT supply system with JITsupply satisfying the demand of production.It starts from the contradiction of predominant ideas of kanban supply andJIT theory, analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of kanban supply, putsforward that kanban supply itself is a kind of design for inventory, of which thedesign concept is not in conformity with the target of zero inventory of JIT andcannot be taken as real JIT management method being not able to satisfy therequirements of new production mode, and its inhere defects can not be solvedcompletely. Kanban supply can not meet the requirements of JIT production.Therefore, JIT supply is an advanced method of logistics putting forward tosupersede kanban supply to meet MTO and an effective way to solve thematerial supply required by MTO.This article stands on the point of theoretical research, expressly definesJIT supply, classifies the types of the specific styles of JIT supply and theclassification of parts, discusses the principle of classification of each style andthe advantages and disadvantages of each style of supply and parts during thecourse of use in details, and gives further summary of the advantages anddisadvantages of JIT supply to make it convenient to correctly apply this theoryduring the course of use. At the same time, it compares JIT supply with othersupply modes on their differences to make the concept of JIT supply clear bycomparison.It states the determination of enterprise and logistics strategies and pointsout that product module, platform strategy and the sales mode of order are thepreconditions of adopting JIT supply and the establishment of informationsystem and JIT organizations is the guaranty of the successful execution of JITsupply.It gives the specific standards and methods for determination of JITsupplied parts, specific methods and binding conditions of evaluation on JITparts' supplier, detailed explanation on BOM form structures and features of JITparts with respect of principles, and discusses the functions and effects of BOMform structure in information data transfer and at the same time, discusses andexplains the use of EDI.By the statement of theories relating to JIT theory, it further exemplifiesthe problems and standpoint from the application of JIT supply in FAW-VW.With the description and analysis of the whole processes of former supply modeof FAW-VW from supply demand flow, operation methods and supply bysuppliers, it summarizes a series of problems existed in the former supply modeand leads to that FAW-VW has developed and uses JIT the new supply mode. Itsystematically introduces the whole process of the new supply mode using inFAW-VW and results achieved from the use of JIT supply in FAW-VW bycomparison between the old and new supply modes. It proves the advantages ofthis supply mode by practices and finds out the practical basis for th use of JITsupply.It summarizes a set of design theories and specific methods of JIT supplyplan by theoretical analysis of JIT and production practices research and takesthe JIT supply mode and flow of FAW-VW as its object of research to argue thewhole processes of JIT supply plan design in details.It points out that the design of JIT plan is, firstly, how to determine JITsupply plan, how to establish the physical model of production supply and thefactors constituting information flow and then gives the standards ofpreconditions and precautions of plan design. It describes how to establishcomputer system related to JIT supply, specifically explains the functions androles of each system and inter relationship of each system, gives thedetermination methods of collection points of computer system information andrelated data-inputting modes required, the specific content and use standards ofdata information, including information processing program, output modes andsetting up computer network, and the specific flow of determination andmaintenance of system data forms.It describes the production plan and material demand plan involved in plandesign, puts forward satisfying demand of order adjustment with rollingproduction plan. It discusses the relationship between production plan andmaterial demand plan and gives detailed explanation and instruction on thecalculation processes and content of parts' demand in demand plan.It puts forward calculating the supply time of JIT supply with supply timeperiod layout in JIT supply plan design. It exemplifies how to plan relevant JITsupply time, the judgment principles of the feasibility of JIT plan and gives theplan design principles of supply time's being able to satisfy the plan timerequirements.In addition, it gives explanation on package device plan of JIT parts inplan design, of which the content is design principles of package plan and thespecialty of JIT supply devices. It points out all problems that shall be paidattention to during the design of JIT shipment plan.Emergency prevention plan of supply shall be designed in advance in theplan to avoid the influences on production resulted from the problems of JITsupply.At the end of this article, it summarizes the whole processes and key pointsof execution of the whole JIT supply plan design and gives a clear operationmethod and precautions of plan design starting from practical examples of plandesign.The entire article adopts the demonstration methods of combining theprinciples and practices of JIT supply, summarizes a set of specific plan anddesign principles and methods of JIT supply and offers theoretical support andoperation methods for the application of JIT supply.
