The Innovation Way Of Chinese Automobile Industry

Based upon an analysis on the technique innovation model and characteristics of the international automobile industry, review of technique innovation history of automobile industry in China, and comparison among several points on the pattern selection of technique innovation under the framework of WTO, this paper points out that as entering into the new stage of development, Chinese mobile industry is now facing a major challenge of sparing no efforts in independent innovation in an open atmosphere. It moves on by analyzing the successful case of JiangHuai Automobile Co. Ltd (JAC). According to this work, the experiences of its success stay in: 1) the practical attitude which emphasizes on the ability of filling up market gaps, extensiveness, compatibility and absorbability of the imported techniques, to maximize the effectiveness of the imported techniques; 2) the four-sector absorption and re-innovation composed of R&D investment increase, serious pattern study, re-innovation and localization; 3) the continuous profitability and advantages gained by refined production schedule, strict quality control, speedy information-based construction and marketing simulation, to ensure realization and sustainable development of innovation; 4) the "40+4" training pattern which characterizes the "systematism and teamwork" theory, and the building of a learning enterprise that can strengthen the effect of learning curves and provide endless inner energy for innovation; 6) the combination of technique innovation, reform and restructuring, and building of enterprise culture to establish an environment favorable to innovation. Toward the end of the paper is the revelation of JAC case that Chinese automobile manufacturers can achieve technique innovation at low cost by fostering independent technique capacity, possessing sustainable profitability, and integrating the enhancement of national spirit with the scientific viewpoint of development to take a quality and efficiency oriented road of speedy development.
