The Progress Research On The China--ASEAN Free Trade Area

As world economy becomes more and more open and free nowadays, trade liberation is producing a profound influence on the development of world economy. Free Trade Area is turning out to be one of the many policies taken by many countries to seek the way of boosting national economy and defending economy depression. The Asian financial crisis and the descending of Asian and world economy speed show the necessity and urgency of strengthening the economic relations between China and Southeast Asia Economy Union.In November, 2001, the leaders of China and Southeast Asia Economy Union reached the common agreement that the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area is to be established within 10 years from then. In May, 2002, the third session of China-ASEAN Senior Officer Meeting was held and the TNC were set up and held its first meeting. After that how to build a China-ASEAN Free Trade Area has become an important subject for China and all Southeast Asia Economy Union countries.This thesis falls into four chapters, whose basic contents are as follows:Chapter One emphatically analyzes the feasibility of establishing China-ASEAN Free Trade Area. First, this chapter introduces the background and presents the theoretical basis of establishing China-ASEAN Free Trade Area. Second, this chapter analyzes the necessity and feasibility of establishing China-ASEAN Free Trade Area.Chapter Two first reviews the process of establishing China-ASEAN Free Trade Area, and then points out to be the problems arising in the process of establishing China-ASEAN Free Trade Area and presents the countermeasures respectively.Chapter Three theoretically analyzes the revenue of establishing China-ASEAN Free Trade Area. First, this chapter analyzes the trade effect between China and ASEAN. Second, it analyzes the investment effect between China and ASEAN.Chapter Four first makes a prediction for the developmental prospect of China-ASEAN Free Trade Area, and presents some suggestions for the development of China-ASEAN Free Trade Area from the angle of policies.
