Competition strategy is an art for enterprises to adapt to environmental changes and the competition, and also a long-term plan to create competition advantages. With a constant development in global politics, economics, culture, science and technology, great changes have taken place in denotation and connotation of competition strategy. According to the evolution of Western strategic management theory, there is such a development process: inside (stress on planning and analysis)---outside (stress on analysis of industrial structure)---inside (stress on the combination of construction and maintenance of leading group with analysis of industrial environment)---outside (stress on cooperation between enterprises and the construction of an organic team mutually complementary in advantages). If seen from its attribute, the weak competition will develop to be harsh, which will then lead to the conflict between enterprises until cooperation and mutual development are achieved at last. If from time horizon, the competition focusing on short term,tangible advantages in products will develop to concentrate on pursuing sustainable and intangible advantages. While seen from strategic management mode of competition, the competition features a balanced and predictable mode which will be changed to be an unbalanced and unpredictable one. Starting from the history and present state of Wuhan garment industry, this article, in light of the changes of environment at home and abroad and the development of strategies of competition among enterprises, gives a analysis to the advantages and disadvantages of Wuhan garment enterprises in current harsh competition according to Porter's Five Forces Model and SWOT Model based on statistical & comparative analysis of the relevant market data and financial data of garment industry and part of Wuhan garment enterprises. By means of on-the-spot investigations and interviews of enterprises and relevant personnel, this article tries to find out the common problems existing in Wuhan garment industry and puts forward some solutions. Finally, this article makes a systematical analysis and research on overall competition strategy in Wuhan textile & garment industries on the basis of modern management theories and some domestic research, and discusses how enterprises achieve sustainable competition strategies according to some studying approaches like the game theory.
