At the age of knowledge economy, the role of knowledge workers become more and more remarkable, while their happiness at work is not so satisfied On the basis of present emotional management theories, this disseratation tries to make a probe on the common negative emotions happening to the knowledge workers in the company as well as the emotional sources, by adopting the research method of empirial analysis. While fully taking account of the factors which might influence the sources of negative emotions, negative emotional management model and strategy suggestions tailored to the knowledge workers of the companies in China are brouhgt forward.Based on theoretical analysis, this dissertation brings forward the model and hypotheses of empirical research, investigates more than 100 knowledge workers from some representative companies in Shanghai, and analyzes the result of questionnaire investigation with SPSS.The result of investigation and data analysis indicates that: boredom, indifference, depression , frustration, perplex and anxiety are the common negative emotions of knowledge workers;competency, self-realization, work relationship, work character, performance management, and organization factors are the main negative emotional sources of knowledge workers, while their correlations with each kind of negative emotions differ from each other. Meanwhile, both job satisfaction and turnover intention have significant correlations with the occurring frequency of negative emotions. The knowledge workers' gender, education background and emotional stability, together with organizational nature and company's future expectation, have different influence in the emotional sources.In the finality, research model and hypotheses are adjusted according to the result of investigation and data analysis. In terms of each negative emotion, selective strategies of negative emotional management on knowledge workers in the organizational level are proposed;then, the problems requiring further studies arediscussed.
