| Container transportation has become the main part of whole economic trade conveyance of cross-straits for its characteristics of efficiency and convenience, its quantum of trade occupying a very big sum in the import and export economic trade of cross-straits. As joined into the WTO and the interactive development of the political and economic relation of cross-straits, the shipping relationship between mainland and Taiwan is having a new change, and this will provide a more favorable and wider foreground for the container transportation of cross-straits.Since the decontrol of economics and trade relationship between mainland and Taiwan from 1979, the shipping relationship has also made certain mitigation and development, which along with the gradual promotion of container transportation. But, because of the policy of the Taiwanese authorities persistence "impassability pass, no inbound", although carried out a direct navigation of container transportation in partial scope, it's still limited at transport cargo to go toward the third long range, the goods that with the purpose of trade with each other still need to pass through the third region.
