As one of the largest finance institutes of the world, HSBC (The Hong Kong andShanghai Banking Corporation Ltd.) has been actively taking part in economicdevelopment of China, and opened several kinds of banking businesses in China.Among these banking businesses, the most successful is Personal Finance Service.The core of competition in the field of Personal Finance Service among all banks inChina is embodied in two aspects, service and the development of investmentproducts. HSBC divided all potential clients into different groups, then decided whoare the target clients after it analyzed itself advantages and disadvantages. Meanwhile,different sub-group clients were provided with different investment products byHSBC.The author illustrated the competitive advantages of HSBC PFS in the view of itselfafter contrasting business strategies with other state-owned banks.The author analyzed the method of dividing clients of HSBC and the developmentstrategies of different investment products aiming to different clients adopted byHSBC. The thesis was mainly written by the method of induction, and many instanceswere given in thesis in order to standing out the essence.
