Analysis And Appraisement Study Of Small Town Competitiveness

At the beginning of the 21st century, the society and economy of China hasentered fast transition period. In this period, as the special area, which connects theurban and rural, the small town undertakes very important task in social transition.So, the development of small town has aroused not only solicitude of centralgovernment but also extensive solicitude of various circles of the society.This paper firstly put forward the definition of small town competitivenessbased the analysis of basic characteristics of competitiveness and the small town.Secondly it founded a set of appraisement index system and appraisement techniquethrough having carried out an extensive analysis of factors that affect small towncompetitiveness, and verified it through representative small towns. Finally thewriter made relevant suggestions to improve small town competitiveness accordingto the current problems and the present situation of Chinese small towns.
