Research On Staff Flow Risk Management In IT Industry

Today the competition between corporations for highly efficient employees has become more and more fierce, and it has been accepted as a common phenomenon that employees flow from one organization to another. Generally speaking, maintaining a certain staff flowing rate (about 8% according to relative statistics) helps an organization to stay fresh and active. However, if this flowing rate is too high, it will seriously affect an organization's normal activities. Since IT industry is a high-tech industry which has great dependence on its talented people to keep its competitive advantages, keeping highly efficient people from leaving the organization is significant for IT related companies.Based on a thorough study on both risk management and staff flow theories, this thesis designs a prevention process for the analysis of staff flow risks, including analysis of both risk recognition and risk assessment. Then by analyzing the results of a survey among employees who has the experience of leaving an IT organization, it concludes the results of staff flow risk recognition and assessment in IT industry. The final part of this thesis discusses risk preventing strategies according to the results of the analysis.Since this research combines theories on both staff flow and risk management, its accomplishments in turn expands the combination part of the two theories;and because this research is based on surveys among IT employees, its results also provide directions for IT corporations in making relative strategies.
