The Research On Technical Progress Of Chinese Automotive Industry

Based on the present Chinese Automotive industry, referred to the researches of the scholars both in china and aboard, applied some principles and some methods of western economics, industry economics and econometrics, this paper mainly analysis and researches the questions as following:1. Analysis the technical progress modes of automotive industry in china and those countries with strong automotive economy.2. Analysis the technical progress in our automotive industry from 1990 to 2004.3.Analysis the factors that disturb the technical progress in Chinese automotive industry.By the research of above questions, we can reach conclusions as following:1. The successful mode of the countries with strong automotive economy can help our automotive industry to find a technology development road which is suitable for our country. The developmental target of Chinese automotive industry is promoting the key competitive power by self-development, self-innovation and closing the gap continuously.2.Generally speaking, during 1990-2004, the technology skill of our automotive industry is rising. However, technology development and labor investment contribute little to the increase of our automotive industry, that is, the contribution rate is pretty low. During the periods of "eighth five years plan" and "ninth five years plan", most of the enterprises were funds-intensive , therefore, the contribute rate of technology investment was pretty low, which indicates that comprehensive economic benefit was decreasing. During the first four years of " tenth five years plan", the contribute rate of technology investment was increasing a lot. Our automotive industry turned from fund-intensive to technology intensive. Extensive economic growth turned into intensive economic growth. So what our automotive industry need is to improve the technology skill and to shift extensive economic growth into intensive economic growth. Thus, we can increase the comprehensive economic benefit and complete the alteration of economic growth style.3.In order to fully developing our technology skills, increasing the international competitive power and boosting the healthy development of automotive industry, we should implement talent strategy, culture high skill worker teams, increase the investment in R&D process, choose self-development strategy and enhance the sense of intellectual property protection. Government also should integrate the resources, construct the effective innovation system, and work out a complete development strategy.
