| Guangdong is one of the provinces which took "open" policy firstly. Its economic development plays an extremely important role all over the country. The amount of FDI flowing into Guangdong has been greatly increased after taking reform-open policy, especially after 1990s. Meanwhile, the scale of foreign trade has been enlarged and the composition of foreign trade has been improved in Guangdong. This thesis tries to do a relatively deep research on correlation between the economic phenomenon. The combination of theoretical & qualitative analysis and quantitative & empirical analysis has been used. Firstly, the writer raises the questions he will study and illustrates the main theory on the mutual influence of FDI and International Trade. Meanwhile, the whole condition of FDI flowing and Foreign Trade in Guangdong will be illustrated; Then the writer will test the correlation of FDI growth in Guangdong and the growth of Foreign Trade there by the method of econometrics with adequate and detailed data. The conclusion of the test is that FDI growth and Foreign Trade growth promotes each other; And then explains with some figures how FDI improved the composition of Foreign trade in the aspects of composition of traded goods, composition of trade partners, and composition of trading methods. Finally, after consideration of China's entry into the after-transition period of WTO, points out the existing problems on how FDI promotes the Foreign Trade of Guangdong and puts forward some effective and practical suggestions. |
