Tianjin, as the foreign trade in 2012 up 2.8% to 3% in the proportion of the nation’s foreign trade, which up 0.2 percentage points, has been ranked as china’s big trade market, is the seventh city in the China’s foreign trade. With the development of economic globalization, as the major port in the north. Tianjin is facing some same problems as China, such as appreciation of RMB, rising costs, trade protectionism begins to prevail. Trade market is the basis of the trade city, Tianjin although it has become a large trade city, but is still has a long way to go to become stronger. With the acceleration of global economy and trade integration process, how to improve the efficiency of the city’s foreign trade is increasingly becoming the most critical issue of economic development. But the problems of low value-added export products, marketing network is not perfect, less self-owned brand have still exists, we should actively promote the transformation of the foreign trade development mode to a trade city, in order to take a place in the fierce international environment, then a good choice of change is urgent task.In this paper, Meta Analysis is used to find a large literature, the theory of trade goods optimization and trade strategy perfection is used as a theoretic basis to change the path for foreign trade development in Tianjin, then descriptively analyzed the current status of Tianjin’s trade volume and structure, finally use the Case Analysis Method to analysis some trade powers like A.merica, Germany, Japan, learn from the successful experience combined with the characteristics of Tianjin, so as to select the path for transition of foreign trade development in Tianjin.
