FDI & The Upgrading Of Industrial Structure In Tsingtao

Since adopting open-door policy, Tsingtao has witnessed the booming and advancing of its attraction of foreign direct investmentC FDD. With the expedite inflow of FDI, the growth of Tsingtao's economic scale has been energized, also the upgrading of Tsingtao's industrial structure has been accelerated.In the first chapter, this thesis nailed down the research angles based on referencing the achievements at home and abroad. In chapter II and III, the characteristics of FDI in Tsingtao and the evolving process of Tsingtao's industrial structure are introduced respectively. This thesis introduced the empirical analysis of the FDI's positive influence on the industrial structure in chapter IV. It launches regression analysis on the relationship between FDI's distribution and the structure of the three industries. In the case of manufacturing, which is most affected by FDI, investigations are made to classify the diverse influence of FDI on different sections, on the employment enlargement, and on the technology diffusion .From the analyses above, there are limited affections of FDI's working on the upgrading of Tsingtao's industrial structure, and some negative impacts has been visualized. In chapter V, this thesis makes a detailed introduction on some controversial fields during the inflowing of FDI.Based on the analysis mentioned above, some relative pieces of advisements are brought forward in chapter VI, in accordance with the new situations with China's entry into WTO.
