The Analysis Of Current Situation And Prospect Of Sino-Russia Oil Cooperation

Ensuring the security of oil is an important factor for China to further its sustainable development. However, during the 21st century, there are two problems we have to face. One is the dramatic growth of consumption for oil, the other is that we have to import large amount of oil to meet the domestic needs due to the restriction of oil resources. With the increasing dependency of foreign oil, it is an urgent issue for China to realize the diversification of oil sources and ensure the sustainable supply of overseas oil. The foreign trade and cooperation of China is developing under the grant pattern of international oil trade. To enhance the cooperation with surrounding countries, especially Russia, a big exporter of oil, is an important choice unquestionably. Sino-Russia oil trade becomes a crucial issue for the security of oil. In the academic field, there are different opinions towards the prospect of Sino-Russia oil trade. Many people believe that international oil surroundings take a drastic turn for the worse. The dispute towards Sino-Russia oil pipe plan together with fierce competition in the Russia oil market predicts the gloomy future of Sino-Russia oil trade.
