China is on the peak of engineering construction, which is characterized by the great amount and large size of construction projects requiring engineering technique more complicated than ever. Chinese construction companies are faced with unprecedented opportunities, as well as increasingly intense domestic and international competitions since China has been a member of WTO. Under such domestic and international circumstances, the projects generally cost a large amount of capitals and a long time to construct, and require many parties to participate and cooperate, therefore, more and more risk factors which involved in contracting construction projects increasingly complicated. That's all, whether a construction company is able to handle the risk factors in a scientific and effective way becomes a crucial problem for the survival and development of the construction company.This paper, on the basis of international academic risk research, and with consideration of the features of Chinese construction, establishes risk management system of contracting construction companies in order to seek effective method for estimating contracting risks and expect to give some available instruction to the contracting construction projects'risk management.Starting with the theory of construction projects'risk management, the paper describes and explains generally procedures of risk management, and then approaches employed in the analysis and management of risks of contracting construction projects. Therefore, combining with the practical traits of construction projects, it tends to decompose those intricate contracting risks to simply judged risk factors by referring to large numbers of domestic and abroad correlative documentaries and in virtue of date collection and survey on the spot. Meantime according to the special character of these risk factors, it identifies and classifies the risk factors in different levels and forms a levels framework, and then designs risk assessment index system of construction.Afterwards, on the basis of analyzing respective character, advantages and disadvantages of present-day construction projects'assessment methods, the paper establishes a construction projects'contracting risk assessment matrix on Fuzzy mathematics integrated method. With analyzing the probability of individual risk factor and the influence resulting from it, it constructs a fuzzy comprehensive assessment matrix to estimate and assess these contracting risks.
