After scientism was produced, it goes in every field of human cultures strongly,including humanities and social sciences. In other side, it also suffers criticisms fromso many ways all the times, especially from philosophy. In this chapter, we start fromthe relationship between science and scientism, and delimit the content and characterof scientism. And then analyze the historical reasons and the abuses of the popular ofscientism. Basing on this, we set out different philosophies from industrial era andpostmodernism.In ancient Greece and almost the whole history before modern times, therelationship of science and humanity was harmonious generally. They were under theresist against God’s will by humanism. There was no giant rip between them.Humanism didn’t believe primitive religion and primitive religion, released peoplefrom God and believe feel and rationality of human. The born of modern naturalscience is the result of humanism. At the beginning, it pushed the development ofhumanism. It’s contribution for against primitive religion and established thedominant position of human being. But after science born and modern era came, thedominant position of human being was more and more stable, the alienation of humanappeared. Science dominated human life even it is made by human being. Therelationship of science and humanity more and more nervous, even depart each otherseriously. Science overturn the dominant position of human, human being becomevassal, only the target of adore from God to science.Overturn the giant rips of scientism and humanity in philosophy and practice. It’sa giant problem about human rationality’s fate in future. We believe the mix ofscience and humanity is probable. The relationship between science and humanityisn’t irreconcilable simply. Scientism and humanism is unity in immanence. Sciencecan’t leave humanism, humanism can’t leave science spirit. Practice proves that science back to humanism value is very important and necessary. In the dominantposition of scientism, scientism back to humanity is the best method to solve thedepart relationship between scientism and humanity.
