With the rapid development of mobile terminal equipment, mobilecommunication and wireless network,The3D graphics and the application of mobileplatform has become the development trend,It has great space of research andapplication. How to render3D terrain has become a research topic in the mobileplatform, According to the project requirements, The localization of3D terrainrendering on mobile terminal is studied and discussed.This paper analyzed the Android application structure, The related theory of3Dgraphics rendering with OpenGL ES on mobile terminal, and The key technology of3D terrain rendering required at the mobile terminal. Mainly includes the modeltransformation, the projection transform, the viewport transform and graphicsrendering technology provided by OpenGL ES. Provide the basis for design andimplementation of the real-time rendering for terrain data of mobile terminal. Andmake an overall design for the terrain rendering program. Program modules includeterrain data read, data pretreatment, data modeling, texture mapping, terrain roaming.According to the overall design of the rendering of terrain, design the flow chart of3D terrain rendering stage and program block diagram.In order to improve the realistic of3D terrain real-time rendering on terminal,graphics rendering process was analyzed, the texture mapping technology arecompared, Three dimensional terrain using Mipmap algorithm to make texture displayhierarchy difference in far and close view on the mobile terminal. And increases thesky box to terrain, These improvements make a better realistic terrain.
