With the rapid development of computer information technology, the traditionalindustries in the development of business models are significant changes, this changeis reflected not only in the field of cutting-edge IT technology and hardware advances,but also in people’s daily life, and can been seen in everywhere. The computer and theInternet technologies are quietly changing the people’s lives and ways of thinking, andthe behavior of some of the traditional methods are no longer able to meet thedemands of reality. Based on the practical considerations, this article develops theGIS-based geographic information system for police, and it can change the traditionalapproach to the police cases. The system relies on the real time updates of geographicinformation systems, and help the police officers carry out their daily work.Practice shows that in everyday policing the event, because of the circumstancessurrounding the incident and its lack of understanding of the past similar eventsfinishing enough other objective reasons, resulting in a lot of unnecessary losses, andeven personal injury. Thesis design and implementation police geographicinformation system fully takes into account the elements of these realities, and does alot of preliminary research work, police work for the current problems and confusionoften encountered, to design the solution.The paper is based on the GIS geographic information system technology. It firstintroduced the current development status of GIS technology and the great advantageof GIS in the practical application. And then, the paper analyzed the integration pointof the policing and GIS technology, which leads to the themes of the paper. At thesame time, it gives a detailed and thorough analysis to the police service content ofthe work and privates a clear demand for concrete. According to requirements of thegiven parts of the system module design, interface design, and database design, thedesign of the front end is given for the prototype system problem.This paper uses the method of the waterfall model in the software engineering toanalysis, design, implementation and test the police conducted the comprehensivegeographic information systems, which is very important to improve the efficiency ofpolice work in the disposal and disposal of quality and other aspects.
