With the development and needs of geological drilling industry, intelligent (automation) drilling machine has become a popular trend of development. Because the drilling within the borehole has not visibility, affect the drilling parameters of many uncertain factors. Therefore, in drilling, reasonable selection and optimization of drilling parameters, reducing drilling cost and improving the efficiency of drilling is needed. And the precondition to solve these problems is to study and master the rock fragmentation mechanism of the bit and drilling technical parameters. In order to adapt to the need of modern scientific drilling tasks and actual production, this paper develops a more comprehensive Micro-Drilling Emulated Experimental Facility. This experimental device can be used in a lot of research work in the field of drilling, such as used for research and development of new type of bit; used to provide or select drilling parameters of actual drilling work, and to evaluate the effect, and to optimize parameters of drilling procedure; used to test rock abrasiveness and rock drillability, and meanwhile classification; and also used to study the service life of diamond bit, which is the research of the consumption of bit with different drilling procedure parameters and the longest time of the bit life with ensuring the demand of drilling rate. This article mainly carry out research and development of Micro-Drilling Emulated Experimental Facility from the following several aspects.Investigate the development situation and research results of self-control type (smart) drilling equipment or device at home and abroad, and do some analysis and comparison of the research achievements in this respect. The National lab on scientific drilling in China University of geosciences (Beijing), combined with the actual situation of our laboratory and scientific research experience level of our research team, put forward the research and development and design idea of Micro-Drilling Emulated Experimental Facility. And analyze the functional requirements of the experiment simulator, including hardware structure, software monitoring and data acquisition system, the function of drilling schema definition, selection of detailed technical parameters, etc. Specific research and development and design of the experimental apparatus is as the follows. The first is mechanical system design of the experiment simulator. According to the already selected technical parameters, carry on the detailed calculation and optimization design about unit head of drilling, feed mechanism, moving mechanism and mud circulating system. And Finite Element Analysis is carried out for the key parts, to ensure that the design satisfies the requirement of mechanical safety. The second is design of monitoring and data acquisition and control system of the experiment simulator. Specific research design content includes bit pressure monitoring and control, rotate speed monitoring and control, drilling rate monitoring and control, torque monitoring and pump volume control, to realize the development of function of each unit system.Simulate drilling test evaluation. Micro-drilling Emulated Experimental Facility is proved reliable operation. Data acquisition and monitoring all meet the design requirement, and the industrial control system also conform to the actual functional requirements.
